Christmas in Jerusalem
On December 4th we went with the DeLeeuw family to see Main Street Bethlehem in Burnett, Texas. They do a reenactment of what life was like on the night of the Savior's birth. It is so well done and really brings to life what it must've been like to be living during that time. They have inns that are too crowded and they have camels and many different types of animals roaming the "streets." They have people cooking food from that time and they have made a whole city for anyone to walk through and experience the atmosphere. It was wonderful and I loved being able to take the kids there and help them experience a little from the olden times. After you go through the village they have free hot chocolate and cookies, so of course the kids thought that was pretty amazing. It was a very long line waiting to get in, but it was definitely worth the wait and we plan to go again for sure!
